I've always had a deep interest in both fashion and music. 

As a kid, I collected Vogue, Interview and Marie Claire magazines, and cut out photos in them to craft intricate collages. I once had dreams of writing or photographing for one of these magazines. 

As I grew a little older, music journalism pulled me in. I knew how much I loved listening to music, but little did I know that I would love reporting on it more. Getting the opportunity to meet musicians and discuss their music with them, allowing them to tell their story, has brought me the most joy in life. 

As the end of my senior year at Colorado State University looms ahead of me, I realized I never got the chance to fulfill little Monty's dream of being a fashion reporter. 

So here we go, blending the old with the new and creating something that will please both little and grown- up Monty: a piece about music AND fashion. Let's rock.
